I truly hope he finds a personal relationship with Jesus. I once was a rightist, not Maga, but a Bush Cheney Republican. Trump changed that. As I read the Kingdom of God is within you, while reading the bible, it sent me on a journey of discovery. Being a non practicing Catholic I suddenly found myself reading and studying the Saints, Avila, Augustine , Benedict, Asisi ect. This led me to Father Laurence Freeman, Merton, James Finley especially Father Thomas Keating. Then I started contemplation, meditation, deep prayer. And guess what, I have a personal relationship with Christ. When you internalize the word, your personality changes, your politics change, you are always increasing your circle of affections, the Holy Spirit activates in you. Empathy, charity, humility, peace begin to over take you. You become repulsed by violence, pornography, politics of hate and dvision on both sides, racism. I only hope he finds in our Panentheist God what I have found, comfort in the Lord. Sadly, I do not see any evidence of this, I pray that he does, he would be a better man, and reject the world he is helping to create.
